Tranquil Jetawanaramaya

A tranquil evening absorbing the energy & serenity of Jetawanaramaya. This 400 ft ( 120m high) stupa built by King Mahasen is believed to be the biggest stupa in the world.  Inscriptions of the names of donors also could be found in the compound and this stupa is believed to enshrine a part of a sash tied by Lord Buddha himself. A few hours spent besides this magnificent and revered stupa will bring about harmony within and without.
